Desde janeiro do ano passado quando comecei a levar mais a sério esse negócio de fotografia observava no instagram e ficava extasiado com as fotos da Via Láctea, e pensava, um dia tenho que fazer umas dessas. Conversando a respeito com meu amigo e fotógrafo Matheus Castro decidimos que a Pedra da Macela seria o lugar ideal para nossa primeira experiência do tipo.
E porque a Pedra da Macela?
Quando começamos a planejar, não queríamos somente chegar de carro em um lugar com pouca luz para fotografar as estrelas (aliás essa é uma informação importante, quanto menos luz melhor para astrofotografia), queríamos também uma aventura, decidimos então que iríamos acampar lá para passar a noite fotografando.
A Pedra da Macela está localizada a 248km da cidade de São Paulo no Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar na divisa entre São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro, com os seus 1840m de altura, nos dias de céu limpo, é possível ver toda a baia de Paraty, Angra do Reis e Ilha Grande.
Como chegar….
Saindo de São Paulo há duas opções, ir pela BR116 (rodovia Presidente Druta) ou pela rodovia Ayrton Senna e pegar a BR116 na altura de Taubaté. Pegue a saída 65 em Guaratinguetá em direção a Cunha ande por mais ou menos 65km até chegar em uma saída à esquerda (Km 66, tem placa) para uma estrada de terra de 4 km que levará até o começo da trilha para a Pedra da Macela (lembrando que você pode por Pedra da Macela no GPS que aparece certinho o caminho). Chegando no começo da trilha que não é exatamente uma trilha (é uma estrada de concreto fechada) há lugares para estacionar. A trilha tem mais ou menos 2km e não oferece grande dificuldades técnicas, porém é bem íngreme e se você estiver carregado como nós estávamos, acaba sendo bem cansativa.
O que esperar….
Não espere nenhum tipo de infraestrutura, portanto vá preparado, leve água protetor solar, papel higiênico, comida, etc… Ah, látambém não pega sinal de celular. Mas o principal que você pode esperar é por um visual incrível! Além da Via Láctea vimos várias estrelas cadentes e o nascer do sol foi um espetáculo a parte, portanto se você não quiser passar a noite como nós fizemos, faça a trilha no meio da madrugada para conseguir ver o nascer do sol porque vale muito a pena.
Para os amantes da fotografia como eu que amam fotografar estrelas é um prato cheio! Uma dica importante, escolham uma época de lua nova pois a luz que a lua reflete apaga as estrelas e vai fazer muita diferença no resultado final das suas fotos. Lembram, um tripé é essencial e se você tiver uma grande angular melhor ainda. Uma boa pedida também é levar uma lente com um zoom maior para fotografar o nascer do sol. De resto é só clickar a vontade e depois compartilhar as fotos!

Pedra da Macela

Since January of last year when I started taking this photography business more seriously I was watching in the instagram and I was ecstatic with Milky Way’s photos, and I thought, someday I have to shot some of those. Talking about it with my friend and photographer Matheus Castro we decided that Pedra da Macela would be the ideal place for our first experience of this type.
And why Pedra da Macela?
When we started planning, we did not just want to drive in a dimly lit place to photograph the stars (this is an important information, the less light the better for astrophotography), we also wanted an adventure, we decided that we would go camping there and spend the night photographing.
Pedra da Macela is located 248km from the city of São Paulo in the State Park of Serra do Mar on the border between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, with its 1840m high, on clear days, it is possible to see the entire Paraty bay, Angra do Reis and Ilha Grande.
How to get there …. 
Leaving from Sao Paulo there are two options, go by the BR116 (Druta) or the Ayrton Senna highway and take the BR116 at Taubaté. Take exit 65 in Guaratinguetá towards Cunha and walk for about 65km until you reach a left exit (Km 66, there is a sign) for a dirt road of 4 km that will take you to the beginning of the trail to Pedra da Macela. Arriving at the beginning of the trail that is not exactly a trail (it’s a concrete road closed) there are places to park. The trail is more or less 2km and does not offer great technical difficulties, however it is quite steep and if you are loaded as we were, it ends up being quite tiring.
What to expect ….
Do not expect any kind of infrastructure, so go prepared, take water sunscreen, toilet paper, food, etc … Ah, there also no cell phone signal. But the main thing you can expect is for an incredible look! In addition to the Milky Way we saw several shooting stars and the sunrise was a sight to behold, so if you do not want to spend the night like we did, make the trail in the middle of the night to see the sunrise because it’s worth it .
For photography lovers like me who love shooting stars is a full dish! An important tip, choose a new moon time because the light reflected by the moon erases the stars and it will make a lot of difference in the final result of your photos. Remember, a tripod is essential and if you have a wide angle lens better yet. A good request is also to take a lens with a larger zoom to shoot the sunrise. Otherwise, just click and share the photos!
